The percentage of couples with children living in poverty was just above the average (12%). The percentages of households in poverty were almost twice the average in two categories — single without children (19%) and sole parent (21%).
In summary, the table tells us that the elderly were the least likely to live in poverty and that single people (with or without children) were the most likely to live in poverty, with sole parents more than five times more likely to live in poverty than elderly couples.
